My dear egg donor,
I literally can not put my feelings into words to express my gratitude to you. You probably have no idea of the greatest gift you have given to us and feeling of completeness to me personally. I was able to raise a baby inside of me and now that little bundle of cuteness brings so much joy every day and every moment. I wish to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!! Even if we may not meet, I just want you to know and be proud of the fact that you have brought so much happiness into our lives.
After multiple failed IVF cycles at a relatively young age, we discovered my egg reserve has depleted already. To put it in my doctor's words, I am one of the few 'unfortunate ones' to have this condition in spite of leading healthy habits throughout my life. 'It's just so unfair', he said.
My husband and I were devastated with the news but then my doctor presented the option of using donor eggs. To be honest, at the time this felt like the toughest decision of my life. It was an emotional roller coaster ride up until I gave birth to a healthy baby. In hindsight, I would say it was not the most difficult, but it was the most BEAUTIFUL decision we ever made as a couple. It brought us to the family we have today.
I hope the physical strain, discomfort, or pain you might have endured during this process through the hormone shots, retrieval, and recovery were manageable. It's not easy and doing it for someone else is truly noble. I hope you know how much this meant to us. No amount of money can match it.
