Maria Menounos and husband Keven Undergaro are expecting their first child via surrogacy! The two opened up about their fertility journey, surrogate pregnancy and gratitude for all involved.

On Tuesday, Maria Menounos announced that she and husband Keven Undergaro are going to be parents. During an appearance on a talk show, Menounos shared that her plans for the year are changing: "We're having a baby."

Just after a decade of trying everything, we are so grateful to the beautiful family helping us conceive our baby," Maria Menounos told People Magazine. "Keven, my dad and I are all beyond excited for this soul to come into our lives. What a blessing.

The TV personality and her husband had opened up previously about their difficult fertility experiences. "I definitely didn't think it was going to take this long," Menounos shared last February. "It's been years. We've used different services, different people... It's just been a very frustrating process."

Most hopeful parents who have struggled with fertility can relate. The IVF process and other fertility proceures can be extremely challenging, and impact both our mental and physical health.

In fact, Menounos had to take a break from fertility treatments in 2017, after she was diagnosed with a brain tumor while her mother was fighting brain cancer. At the time, she had to undergo a seven-hour brain surgery to remove the tumor.

After her health battle, the couple announced their decision to pursue surrogacy in 2018, and openly documented their fertility struggles. "We've done literally everything," Menounons shared.

She spoke to People about the emotional toll of her fertility journey, saying, "I told [my doctors], 'If it doesn't work, I'm done. This is the last straw. If this doesn't happen, it's definitely not meant to be.'" She and her husband had struggled with their tumultuous fertility experience, which included surgery. "I can't go through this process again."

Luckily, their surrogacy journey has been successful. After so many ups and downs, the couple is expecting their first child via surrogate. Menounos announced the pregnancy Tuesday, and has gone on to post additional statements sharing their joy on social media.

We are overjoyed to share that we are finally gonna be parents!" The televsion host shared, thanking her friends, family and fertility team who assisted on her surrogate journey. "Thank you to our incredibly generous surrogate and her family for this blessing! And lastly, I know my mom had a cup of greek coffee with god and said it’s time. So grateful for the blessing in our lives. Cant believe I’m sharing this news without her in the physical, but I know she made it happen on the other side and is going to be with me every step of the way. Thank you all for your love! We are just so grateful!

The star posted once more today, sharing a picture of herself and her husband holding a baby onesie and a sign reading: "We're having a baby!"

"We are so overwhelmed by all the messages of love and joy we have received in the last 24 hours," Menounos shared.

We are so happy for Maria Menounos and Keven Undergaro. We are always grateful when public figures speak out on their fertility struggles and diverse paths to family, and we are wishing the absolute best for Maria and Keven on their journey!
